This privacy policy explains how Payroll Calculator (payrollcalculator.net) handles personal information when you visit the website. We keep what we collect to a minimum and we do not sell personal information.
Who we are
Payroll Calculator is a website offering free US payroll calculators and explanations. For the purposes of UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), the site operator is the data controller for personal information collected through this website.
To contact us about privacy, or anything else, please use the contact form on our Contact page.
The information we collect
Technical information when you visit
Like most websites, our hosting, content delivery and security systems record technical logs when pages are requested. These can include your IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested and the date and time. We use this to keep the site working, secure and free of abuse.
Forms, messages and subscriptions
Our Contact page has a contact form. If you use it, we receive the name, email address, subject and message you enter. It is sent to us by email so we can reply, and we use it only for that purpose. This website does not offer comment or account forms. The figures you type into our calculators are processed in your browser to show a result. Your browser may keep them temporarily for the current session, but the calculators do not send them to us. Our host’s email marketing tool (Hostinger Reach) loads a small script on our pages so that a sign-up form can be shown if we add one. If you ever subscribe through such a form, the details you enter will be used only to manage that subscription.
Analytics and advertising
As of 3 November 2026, we do not load Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or similar third-party advertising trackers on the public pages we checked. If that changes, we will update this policy before or when it happens.
How we use information and our lawful basis
- Running and securing the website, including server logs and preventing misuse: legitimate interests in operating a safe, working site.
- Replying to messages or managing a subscription you ask for: legitimate interests in responding to you, or consent where the law requires it.
- Legal obligations: where the law requires us to keep or disclose information.
We will not send you marketing emails unless you have clearly asked to hear from us, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. Under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), cookies that are not strictly necessary should only be set with your agreement.
- Strictly necessary cookies may be set by WordPress, our hosting provider or caching software so the site works properly and stays secure.
- Optional analytics or advertising cookies are not intentionally used on this site as of 3 November 2026. If we add them, we will describe them here and ask for your agreement where required.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working.
Who we share information with
We only share personal information with service providers that help us run the website, and only as far as they need it. This includes our website host (Hostinger), which provides hosting, content delivery, security and the email and form tools mentioned above. We may also disclose information if the law requires it. We never sell personal information.
International transfers
Some of our service providers may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as adequacy regulations or an approved transfer mechanism.
How long we keep information
- Messages you send us: kept long enough to reply and deal with any follow-up, then deleted unless we need them for a complaint or legal reason.
- Server and security logs: kept by our hosting provider for a limited period under its own retention practices.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- delete your information
- restrict how we use your information
- object to processing based on legitimate interests
- provide your information in a portable format, where that applies
- withdraw consent where we rely on consent
We will normally respond within one month. There is usually no charge. See Who we are above for how to reach us.
How to complain
Please contact us first so we can try to put things right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Links to other websites
Our pages link to manufacturers, official bodies and other websites. We are not responsible for how those sites handle your information, so please read their privacy policies.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page if our practices change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. See also our About page.
